Statement
I am an Irish sculptor and set designer, and my work takes a critical view of the social and cultural issues of rural Ireland. Often referencing Irish folklore, history and religion, my practice explores the varying relationships between modern culture and these traditions, both past and present.
Using found objects as material, my sculptures often take the form of houses — documenting and representing the more mundane aspects of social reality and material culture, while also engaging with the abstract or symbolic, with the house functioning as a symbol of the self (Jung). The sculptures might be seen as repositories or containers for behaviours, norms and rituals of daily life.
I also experiment with emerging technologies to find new ways of making art, expanding the possibilities of form, process and narrative within my work.

Background
I originally trained as a furniture Maker/Designer before getting a First Class Hons Degree in 'Production Design and Art Direction' from The IADT Film School, Dublin.
I am currently undertaking a post grad in Art & Technology at The University of Galway.
I am also a fully Qualified Welder/ Fabricator.
